New Delhi, India – The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has revised its metro timings for the 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL) matches that will be held at the Arun Jaitley Stadium or formerly known as Feroz Shah Kotla. The revised timings are effected from the first match day, and the changes will remain in place for the duration of the IPL season.
First and Last Metro Train Timing:
According to the new timings, metro services will start earlier than usual on match days to cater to the large number of spectators who are expected to use the metro to reach the stadium. The first metro train will leave the terminal stations at 6:00 am, and the last train will leave at 11:00 pm. On non-match days, the metro services will run as per the regular schedule.
What will be the Frequency of Metro Trains?
The DMRC has also decided to increase the frequency of metro trains on match days to ensure that there is no overcrowding and to make commuting hassle-free for the passengers. The trains will run at an interval of 3 to 4 minutes during peak hours and 7 to 8 minutes during non-peak hours.

The revised timings will be applicable to all the metro lines in Delhi, including the airport express line. The stations that are likely to witness heavy footfall on match days, such as Delhi Gate, Rajiv Chowk, Mandi House, Kashmere Gate, Kirti Nagar, and Inderlok, will have additional security personnel to manage the crowds.
Speaking on the revised timings, DMRC spokesperson Anuj Dayal said, “We have revised the timings keeping in mind the convenience of the passengers who will be traveling to the stadium for the IPL matches. We have also taken measures to ensure that there is no overcrowding and that social distancing norms are followed.”
